Weigh and pay is how valuable non-ferrous scrap — copper, brass, aluminium, lead and cable — is weighed, graded and paid for at collection. No yard visit, no guesswork.
What Is Weigh & Pay?
Instead of loading your van and queuing at a scrap yard, weigh and pay brings the scales to you. At collection, each material is weighed item by item on calibrated scales, graded on the spot for type, cleanliness and condition, and priced against current guide rates. You get an itemised weight and price breakdown before anything leaves — then payment by bank transfer.
It applies to non-ferrous metals where the value justifies individual assessment: copper pipe and wire, brass taps and fittings, aluminium, lead, cable and similar grades. General steel, iron and mixed low-value loads are usually collected free instead.
