Weigh & Pay for Non-Ferrous Scrap in Wakefield

Our weigh and pay service is for valuable non-ferrous scrap including copper, brass, aluminium, lead, stainless steel and cable. These materials are assessed differently from general steel because value depends on grade, cleanliness, quantity, contamination and current market prices.

Send your postcode, clear photos and approximate weight where possible. We can then advise whether the load is suitable for collection, weigh and pay, or a standard scrap metal collection.

Ask About Your Metal

How Weigh & Pay Works

Weigh and pay is not a one-size-fits-all price. This process helps us assess your material properly and avoid misleading estimates.

01

Identify the Metal

Tell us whether you have copper, brass, aluminium, lead, stainless steel, cable or a mixed non-ferrous load.

02

Send Photos

Photos help us check grade, contamination, fittings, insulation, quantity and whether the load is clean or mixed.

03

Estimate Quantity

Approximate weight, number of bags, boxes, cylinders, lengths or pallets helps us assess suitability.

04

Grade & Condition

Clean copper pipe, mixed brass, aluminium wheels, armoured cable and household cable are all graded differently.

05

Collection Arranged

Once we understand the load, we arrange collection based on material, access, location and value.

06

Confirmed Assessment

Final assessment depends on the actual material presented, grade, contamination and market price at the time.

Best Materials for Weigh & Pay

  • Copper pipe, copper tanks and clean copper wire
  • Brass taps, fittings, valves and mixed brass
  • Aluminium extrusion, wheels, sheet and frames
  • Scrap cable, household cable, armoured cable and data cable
  • Lead, stainless steel and other clean non-ferrous metals

Proof of Ownership

Marked cable, high-value commercial loads and certain materials may require proof of ownership. This protects both customers and OJ Metal Recycling and keeps the collection process compliant.
